Tilden Township was abuzz in July 2010 when the hit reality television show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, came to fulfill the dreams of a new home for Trisha Urban and her daughter Cora. Watkins Architect joined with over 300 area businesses to make the dream a reality. Watkins provided landscape architecture, designing the landscape plan for the Tilden Township property. Plans were developed with the input of the show's production staff to create an English Cottage Garden, including stepping stone walkways, a rustic picket fence, siting of animal enclosures, an elevated deck in the rear of the home, and a proliferation of bloom and seasonal interest. While the plans were drawn, the design and coordination efforts included the selection of plant material from local nurseries. Watkins also provided field supervision for the landscape installation process during the intense build, in which the new home was constructed and family-ready in less than one week! Landscape Architect Matt Davenport really enjoyed the experience and creating the plan that brought the outdoor environment in harmony with the rest of the home.
